Measure’s VP of Insurance to Discuss How Drones Can Revolutionize Insurance
WASHINGTON, DC – Widely recognized as the pioneer of applying drones to the insurance industry, Measure’s Vice President of Insurance Kat Swain delivered the keynote address at the Eighth Annual Women in Leadership Forum hosted by Insurance Networking News in Chicago, IL.
In remarks titled “Taking Insurance to the Skies”, Kat discussed her journey as an aviator, her experiences in developing the insurance industry’s leading drone program, and how Measure’s Drone as a Service® model can revolutionize the industry. With more than twenty years of experience in insurance and an extensive aviation background, Kat’s depth of knowledge allows Measure to help insurance companies improve claims response, risk assessment, and post-catastrophe triage.
“Emerging technologies such as drones lead to new career paths – this is the future for business,” said Swain. “My career path is an example of how a personal passion for aviation was combined with an emerging technology to spearhead a new way of doing business and better serving customers. Organizations should tap into the skills and resources of their employees, utilize talent to uncover new ideas and technologies, and improve the products and services offered to customers.”
Prior to joining Measure, Kat was an Innovation Advisor for USAA where she led their research and development program for drones, developed and implemented strategic initiatives for the company, and was the listed inventor on several patents. As a FAA rated pilot, Kat flew a variety of fixed wing aircraft, coordinated relationships with air traffic control, and managed flight training for the United States Air Force. She has served as an insurance claims arbitrator and manager, providing her with a unique perspective on the value of drone use for the insurance industry.
